Manscaping The How Tos When It Comes To Grooming

Manscaping, you have probably heard the word before. The question is do you know what it means? This is not a new term or concept, but rather the term given to trimming, waxing or shaving the hair on the body for cosmetic effect.

If you have you ever shaved your back hair, waxed your legs or even trimmed your chest hairs for sport or just plain grooming, then you have then you’ve participated in the art of manscaping. But, there remains a lot of mystery behind the whole idea of manscaping and what exactly it entails.

Are you already a Manscaper?

More than likely you’re already grooming some part of your body and that is great. Investing in a groomed and well maintain physique and personal appearance will never fall short. As a society, we prefer and tend to be drawn to well groomed and presented man.

But let’s face it there is more to it than simply shaving your chest, back, armpits, stomach, etc. There are now modern treatments such as Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and Laser which offer up a far more permanent and long term solution.

Manscaping has grown away from an idea and something only the guys in muscle magazines or professional athletes do, to a recommended grooming practice for all men to follow and consider.

The Benefits of Manscaping

There are many reasons to consider manscaping, one of the obvious being comfort and hygiene during sport. Hair removal ensures less dirt and sweat, and that means a cleaner you!

You’ll become more confident. I know this almost sounds cliche but, it’s really true. Statistics show men with better hygiene practices display more confidence in everyday normal social interactions, and of course, women love it!

Where to even begin?

Now that you have a basic understanding of manscaping and some of its benefits but, where do you really begin? What is involved in manscaping through laser hair removal?

Permanent hair removal makes use of a laser light energy to penetrate the hair shaft and destroy the hair root. That means results of laser hair removal last a fairly long time but may require a touch up now and then.

– How long does it take?

Roughly 20 – 180 minutes per treatment, depending on the size of the area. It will require up to twelve treatments to see the best results.

– Which area’s can I treat?

Removing or reducing hair on back, chest, stomach, shoulders, and genital area. Works best on light skin with dark hair; not suitable for blond or white hair. Black skin responds well to only one type of laser, the Nd: YAG laser.

How Often Should I Manscape?

Outside of laser, shaving is something unique per individual, so your time frame is going to differ from someone else. Always find a schedule that suits your lifestyle and image whether it be casual, hip or ultra sleek. In general, the average guy manscapes every 2 to 3 weeks.

Always consult a medical aesthetics practitioner when lasering. Find the most effective treatment, a highly qualified and recommended technician. Most of all a reputable clinic, safety comes first … always!
