Biopuncture injection therapy: A little that does a lot

Biopuncture injection therapy A little that does a lot

You’ve heard of acupuncture. You know about homeopathy. But what if there was something in between that could help you stimulate your body’s natural healing process? This is where biopuncture comes in – the oldest ‘new’ therapy you’ve yet to hear about.

While it’s been used for centuries in Europe and America, biopuncture is relatively new to South Africa and few doctors are acquainted with the practice but it’s been something Health Renewal has been offering patients for a good two years.

Bio-what? Biopuncture!

An effective and inexpensive therapy, biopuncture involves injecting diluted microdoses of botanicals and minerals intramuscularly. Just one injection has an effect on the entire body. It can help stimulate a healing process, reduce inflammation and improve natural immunity. You can also inject a specific ‘problem area’ – like a frozen shoulder or sprained ankle. (This is referred to as the treatment zone, or local, injections.)

Biopuncture has been used to successfully treat a long list of conditions, many of which are painful. These include a migraine, fibromyalgia, neck and shoulder spasms, arthritis and myofascial pain syndrome. It can also assist with diseases like diabetes; ease the symptoms of menopause and even improve skin conditions like acne and rosacea.

Conventional medicine often relies on incredibly strong drugs to immediately suppress a symptom. However, this is a short-term fix and often doesn’t treat the issue that’s causing it. Biopuncture, however, requires just a small dose with the aim of ‘waking up’ your body’s own healing mechanism. This way, the ‘cure’ comes from you, not from the outside. Because it’s your own immune system doing the work, there’s no question as to whether it’s the ‘right’ medicine or not.

What’s in the mix?

The contents of the biopuncture injections will vary depending on what you’re wanting to treat, but there’s a targeted mix for just about anything. Traumeel, for example, regulates inflammation so it’s ideal for sprains and strains. Spascupreel is used to relieve tight muscles, making it the best choice for spasms, be they in your shoulder or caused by PMS. Tonic-Injeel helps with exhaustion and chronic fatigue; Thyroidea Comp can assist a dysfunctional thyroid (among other things) and Grip Heel defends against viruses like the flu.

These are but just a few of the many preparations offered at Health Renewal. After an initial consultation with one of our highly skilled doctors they’ll be able to recommend one, or several, that will be best suited to your condition as well as how many injections and sessions you’ll require.

To give you an example, patients suffering from arthritis and not wanting to take daily medications could consider biopuncture as an alternative. After 4 to 6 weekly injection sessions, they might only need one once a month to help manage their discomfort or, in some cases, eradicate it completely.

Like we said, many doctors treat symptoms, but Health Renewal’s focus is on restoring health and biopuncture is just one way in which we can help you do it.
